Colored pencils are a better fit for lightly shading the clip art pictures in section one without bleeding into the text. A fine liner in one accent color works well to circle blends in section two, keeping that activity visually distinct from the written responses.
Printing Tips
Bump the scale to 110 percent if printing for younger writers who need more room on the answer lines. At standard letter size the lines are workable but tight, so heavier 24 lb paper prevents any show-through from pencil pressure.
