Always, never, sometimes: third graders sort out adverbs of frequency worksheet exercises across three distinct activity types on a single page.
A purple and green header announces the topic clearly, and a color-coded reference box at the top defines all three frequency words with example sentences before any exercise begins. The three activities move from guided to independent in a logical sequence.
Section one pairs small illustrations of kids brushing teeth, eating vegetables, and playing video games with fill-in blanks. Section two asks students to circle the best word from always, never, and sometimes across three sentences. Section three opens up entirely, giving a line for each word so students write original sentences. Complexity is low to moderate, making the page manageable for most third graders working alone.

Colored pencils work well for circling answers in section two without bleeding through to the back of the sheet. A fine liner or ballpoint pen keeps handwriting clean on the narrow write-in lines in section three. Use a highlighter cautiously on the reference box only, as heavy ink can obscure the color-coded word labels.

Cardstock is unnecessary here. Standard copy paper handles the line work cleanly, but bump the scale to 100 percent and disable any shrink-to-fit setting so the write-in lines print at their intended length.
