Usage Notes

Nearly everything on the materials list is already in the house: paper strips cut to size, scissors, a ruler, and optional tape. The one item worth checking is a hair dryer with a cool or low-heat setting, since the safety section specifically calls for that setting and reminds students not to look into the airflow. An adult should supervise the hair dryer steps, particularly for younger homeschoolers.

Printing Tips

Standard 20 lb copy paper works for most students, but 24 lb paper keeps the writing lines crisp if your student presses hard with a pen. Slip the sheet into a lab notebook after the experiment, or use a clipboard during the active steps so the sheet stays flat while both hands hold the paper strips.
