Ballpoint pens work well in the color columns since the boxes are roomy enough to write a creature name or draw a quick sketch without smearing. Fine liners let kids add tiny detailed drawings inside the size boxes without the ink bleeding through standard copy paper. Laminate a copy and the sheet becomes a dry-erase activity children can reset and repeat across multiple lessons.
Printing Tips
Two or three copies printed back to back let a child try sorting independently on one sheet and work through it again with a caregiver on another. Punching a hole in the top left corner fits the finished page neatly into a preschool portfolio ring.
