Kids Recipe Book Template, Ingredients and Eight Numbered Steps

Every budding chef needs a place to write things down, and this kids recipe book template gives them exactly that, room for ingredients AND a full eight steps.

At the top, a bold yellow ribbon banner displays the word “Recipe” in chunky red lettering, followed by three header fields: Recipe for, From the kitchen of, and Serves. Below that, the page splits into two clearly bordered sections. The left column is headed INGREDIENTS and holds ten bullet-point lines. The right column is headed STEPS and runs eight numbered lines, giving plenty of space for a complete cooking sequence. A smiling chef hat sits beside the header fields, and cartoon strawberries, carrots, and rolling pins decorate the border. “Made with love” appears in a cloud bubble at the bottom.

This kids recipe book template is part of the Cookbook Recipe Page Templates collection and works best when kids fill it in after cooking a dish they want to remember. The ingredient lines are narrow enough for a single item per line, and the numbered steps column gives one line per action, which keeps instructions clear and easy to follow for young readers. It suits kids who are just starting to document their own recipes as much as those building a growing collection.

Usage Notes

Ballpoint pens work well here because the ingredient bullet lines and numbered step lines are narrow, and ballpoint ink dries instantly without smearing across to the next line. Gel pens in red or yellow pick up the page’s color scheme nicely for filling in the header fields, which are wider and give more room to write. The page can be slipped into a sheet protector and filled in with dry-erase markers for practice runs before a final ink copy.

Printing Tips

Printing single-sided on 90 gsm copy paper gives enough weight that pen ink does not bleed through to whatever sits underneath. If kids are building a personal recipe collection, leave a small margin on the left edge before punching holes so the ingredient column stays fully readable in a binder.
