License Plate Road Trip Game, Four Activities on One Sheet

Packed into one retro-styled sheet, this license plate road trip game printable covers spotting all 50 states, logging miles, checking off cows and wind turbines, and drawing the best moment of the drive.

Four distinct sections fill the page. The largest is a numbered 50-state grid, Alabama through Wyoming, each state paired with a square checkbox. To the upper right sits a mileage log with columns for date, from, to, and miles, plus a total miles field at the bottom. Below that is a Things I Spotted checklist with 13 illustrated items including cow, horse, road construction, wind turbine, train, boat, airplane, tall building, water tower, welcome sign, state trooper, billboard, and a write-in Something Unique line. The lower left holds a generous blank Draw Your Road Trip box with the prompt asking kids to draw the best part of their adventure.

This sheet is the all-in-one page of the Road Trip Games collection, suited to a single child managing their own copy or a group of kids each racing to check off states first. The drawing box offers plenty of room for a real scene rather than a scribble, and the mileage log has around eight rows, enough for a multi-day trip broken into legs. A fine liner or a thin ballpoint keeps marks neat inside the small state checkboxes without bleeding through to the back.

Usage Notes

Pencil is worth considering here, especially for the mileage log rows, so dates and totals can be corrected without crossing out. The state grid checkboxes are small, roughly a quarter inch square, so a 0.5mm ballpoint or fine liner keeps marks clean and contained. The drawing section is spacious enough for colored pencils or thin markers without the paper buckling, assuming standard weight paper.

Printing Tips

Printing one copy per traveler makes the state-spotting game competitive rather than cooperative. Heavier paper, 24 lb bond or above, holds up to repeated handling across several days in a car door pocket or seatback organizer without going soft at the edges.
